3 Things To Better Your SEO
There a far more than three steps you can take to better your SEO, but we're going to focus on three of the simplest steps this go around.
3 Steps for Better SEO
Add a Title to every page.
Add favicon to your site
Pick the right site URL
These items may seem simple or complex, depending on your skill level, but let's take a walk through each step, starting with: adding a title to every page.
The above image is an example of a page title. Search Engines index page titles in their results. It's even better if you include a keyword or two. For the Basal House site, the title of the Contact Us page would be Basal House -Contact Us. This title includes the brand name and the information available on the page. If you're using a website builder, they will have a utility you can use to set a custom page title. If you're coding the site from scratch, the <title> tag will be your best friend.
An example of a favicon for your site is the logo next to the page title in the image above. Again, this image will show up in search engine results, and you want it to properly represent your brand. Not only does it increase your SEO, but it's an important part of your site's user experience. Most people don't have just one tab opened while browsing the internet, so having a favicon will help with brand recognition and helping your audience easily find what tab your site is in.
A clean domain name is the last step of this article. You want to have a strongly branded URL for your site. All great website builders will allow you to use a custom domain to display your site. Look at the two example images above. Having a clean domain, like the first image, will make your site easier to find in search results, and simply looks much better branded.
"Good SEO work only gets better over time. It’s only search engine tricks that need to keep changing when the ranking algorithms change."
Like anything else worth doing. It will take time, but these are 3 small steps you can utilize to get you started.
