Clean Up Your Instagram Profile

article header

Your Instagram profile is often one of the first places people check when they hear about your business. It should quickly tell people who you are, what you offer, and what they can do next.

You do not need a perfect feed to have a useful profile. Start by making the basics clear: your name, bio, profile photo, link, highlights, and pinned posts.

A clean profile helps people understand your business faster.
Check your profile name

Make sure your name helps people find you.

Your profile name can include your business name and a simple keyword. Example: “Bright Desk Studio
Update your profile photo

Use a clear image that fits your brand.

This could be your logo, product, storefront, or a clear photo of you if you are the face of the business. Make sure it is easy to see at a small size.
Write a clear bio

Explain what you do in simple words.

Your bio should say what you offer, who it is for, and what people should do next. Keep it easy to scan.
Add your best link

Make sure your profile link sends people somewhere useful.

Link to your website, booking page, shop, waitlist, contact form, or link-in-bio page. Test the link after adding it.
Update your highlights

Keep your highlights useful and simple.

Add highlights like Start Here, Services, Shop, Reviews, FAQ, Behind the Scenes, or Contact. Remove old highlights that no longer fit.
Pin helpful posts

Choose posts that explain your business.

Pin posts that introduce your business, explain your offer, show proof, answer questions, or tell people how to work with you.
Remove confusing details

Clean up anything that no longer fits.

Look for old links, unclear bio text, outdated highlights, or posts that make your current business hard to understand.

Example text:

“My Instagram bio now says what I offer, who I help, and where people can go to book or buy.”
